Many of you joined Asia TEFL years ago and have since changed your email
addresses. I have sent the email below to the email addresses that I have. I
am posting it here in the hopes of reaching more embers. Please let me know
if your email has changed since you joined.

Dear members of Asia TEFL,

Once in two years, members of ASIA TEFL are asked to elect a regional
representative. The elections were to be delayed for technical reasons, but
now the serving regional representatives have been asked to hold elections
immediately and submit results by the end of February. I am therefore asking
for nominations from among the members. Please feel free to nominate
yourself (with a second, please) or a friend (with agreement from the
nominee, please).  I need to receive nominations no later than February
16th, 2014. After receipt of nominations, I will send the statements of all
nominees to the member ship and ask for a vote. 

Until now, the duties of the representatives have mainly been to serve on
the Executive Council (EC). The EC meets once a year at the Asia TEFL
conference to make major decisions about the organization. (Note:
representatives do not receive funding for airfare to attend the conference;
they are exempt from conference fees and their hotel is covered for the
duration of the conference.) In addition, there are discussions and
decision-making by email throughout the year. In the future, the regional
representatives will have additional duties which will include organization
of dues collecting, based on the decision of the EC at the 2013 conference) 

All nominations should be sent to me: holzms@xxxxxxxxxxxx with a 300-500
word personal statement.
