A couple of suggestions to prevent copying and pasting: We make our students print their sources, read them in class and highlight the relevant material that they want to use. They have to hand in this highlighted material together with the project. Then we can check for copying and pasting and see to what extent they rewrote the ideas using their own words etc. etc. You can also check for plagiarism by "googling" a suspicious sentence or two! Question: Can they use a project they wrote in 10th grade for the oral exam in 12th grade?
