Hi All, First of all thank you to those of you who pointed out that the link to the new LD guidelines I included in my previous email was defective. Here is the corrected link that takes you directly to the 20 page guidelines. http://cms.education.gov.il/nr/rdonlyres/072e4999-2b61-4a96-993e-424fa9103a9 a/136803/ldguidelines12.doc You shouldn't have to copy this long and complicated address, but be able to simply click on it in this message. It's a long document and takes a while to download so be patient. The English forms begin on page 8. Also, if you have comments about this issue, please write them on ETNI (although I'll respond to as many as I can manage to my own email address depending on my work load). The point is to have a discussion about the issue and come up with some kind of constructive ways of dealing with it. I'm sure that Dr. Steiner and other Ministry personnel as well as department heads in our schools (after all they're our colleagues) are reading these posts and I'm also sure that there's nothing to worry about re job security as a result of what we discuss here. It is important that they are aware of how we feel and join the discussion, so please don't hesitate to 'speak' your mind. By the way, I was informed by a history and Hebrew language teacher in our school who has 20 ld pupils in his class of 30 that starting this year, teachers who read tests & other texts to the pupils, give extra time, and other accommodations the ids are entitled to, will no longer be paid for this work. He was told (by Irgun Hamorim) that it's now a part of the new labor agreement - Oz L'tmura and Ofek Hadash, and even though our schools won't be in the new program for another 3 years, we teachers are still expected to provide this sevice (did I mention WITHOUT BEING PAID???). I'm still waiting for an answer from our union (from Nurit Valenci) and will update as soon as I receive one. Renee
