Concerning geocities closure: First step, I managed to download all my files from the many sites I've been building since '99 to the school server (lucky I am to have a sympathetic technician). However, I then checked to see if my sites had been archived online. Try inserting your URL on the 'Wayback Machine' http://www.archive.org/index.php. I saw many dates over the years where the 'bot spiders' have entered and kept my info safely available online. You may find that your files will still be accessible online by those who use a search engine to find you. Meanwhile, thanks to those who've offered possible alternatives. I, myself, have been looking at www.multiply.com which offers blog, video and photo uploads. It requires membership, however, which means it's great for classroom use, staff use or other community use, but it can't provide open viewing, Our school is also using MSN Live - which offers a lot of online storage for documents, powerpoints, videos, photos. I haven't yet checked out voice files. Live is good because you can choose to make your files visible to the public (provided the 'public' knows it can look),to selected groups or keep them as private storage. All the best.
