I am going to buy a new computer and would like to buy an Imac. (Apple). I once heard that you can't run the marvad marking program on a Mac. Is that so? If you have ever marked papers with a Mac, I would love to hear about your experience with it.  Sandra Yosef-Hassidim Facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie 054-6946661 089704264 ________________________________ From: HAGIT LAHAV ×?×?×?ת ×?×?×? <hagit_27@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, October 4, 2011 8:26 PM Subject: [etni] Re: Teachers: High school exams are ruining study of social sc I totally agree that teachers shouldn't be testing robots, and schools and education shouldn't be about achievements and benchmarks, numbers and grades, and teachers and schools MUSTN'T be rewarded (Gmulim etc..) for their students grades, otherwise it will become a factory, we will be the workers, and honesty won't necessarily be the best policy... for pupils and teachers. (I didn't mention us checking all those tests (Meitzav Pnimi for 5th ad 8th graders), twice a year every year for 4 years, sitting for hours and hours feeding data into Excel files (Meitzavit) and keeping track of numbers and percentages. I struggle to have the moments of joy with my pupils, seeing the spark in their curious eyes, just enjoying studying for studying only. I hope that teachers and teaching will not become ROBOTIZED. A quote from the article: "When you are dealing with a time frame that requires sprints to cover the material, there is no time for 'the soul.' As a mother to a HS pupil and as a teacher I can say, that it is terrifying to see the robotics in action, as far as the Bagrut is concerned- I don't see a SOUL (my HS son will surely agree with me) in this race. We mustn't lose the soul in teaching! Teaching is all about soul!
