Hi,
I just wanted to share the following information:

There is a course subsidized by the Board of Education available for Olim
(no year limit...even if you made aliya over a decade ago) who want to
certify as English teachers.

It is free to those who qualify.  I'm not sure who qualifiies, however, I
did qualify.  My story is that I have a B.Ed and a Teudat Horaah, in a
different area of education.  I have been teaching English for 4 years and
need to certify as an English teacher.  This is called "harchavat hasmacha."

Apparently this has been going on for the last 9 years and if there are
enough applicants the course opens and sometimes more than one course opens
in the country in the same year, for example, one in Jerusalem and one in
the South.

paying over 10000 shekel to do exactly what this course is offering for
