I agree with those who say you can only only feel good about teaching poems etc that you really like. Esther Revivo quotes Charge of the Light Brigade as something she didn't like, because she couldn't relate to it. Fair enough. I happen to have enjoyed its rythm when I was at school in GB. Some of the "old stuff" is teachable if you like it. Your enthusiasm is what really counts. Relevance is important but without enthusiasm it may be a flop. Good luck for the coming year. I wish I were still in the classroom. With all its anxieties and frustrations it is full of rewards.
