From: "Robert and Jodi Schenck" <rojo1@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Sergei and Nehama's comments Actually, my husband, whose American accent in Hebrew is readily apparent, often ends up in the ridiculous position of having conversations in which he struggles to continue in Hebrew, while his Israeli counterpart insists on "practicing" his English with him. This has happened everywhere from Eilat to Haifa. And of course, as long as the universities insist on forcing Native born Israeli students to read all their texts in English ( especially noticeable in the fields of law, psychology and medicine) then English will continue to be relevant in areas all over the country, and certainly not just in cities with high Anglo populations like Ra'anana. Whether this is a good thing or not is really up to individual interpretation.
