Subject: fun end of the year activity for ALL ages.
HI All.
The end of the year is always so difficult. We are tired and so
are the kids.
Here is a nice idea which worked wornderfully today as a last
lesson for a 5 point 10th grade. It may sound silly but the kids loved it !!!
(I will do it with my 9th graders next week).
You write a task they have to complete in English on a slip of paper
and put it in a balloon and blow it up. They have to pop the balloon
and carry out the task. Some of the tasks are individual while others
are in pairs or more. All you have to do is type or write the slips,
cut them up and get someone in your family to help you put them in the
balloon and blow them up. (I do this the night before)
In class the kids pop the balloon and complete the task. (Noisy but
they like noise , right!!) and everyone has a great time .(and they
get a candy for completing the task correctly) Some of the tasks were
things like, "Go to the board, and write a sentence in the past simple"
OR " Ask the person next to you 4 WH - questions." . OR " Recite the ABC's
while staniding on a chair/ or hopping up and down" " Sing a song in English
while looking out the window" and so on.. ..
I have a long list of possible tasks.. Just write me and I'll forward
it on.
But just be creative. Try and make some of the tasks involve activity
and English. AND yes even 5 pointers enjoyed it !!!
