Dear All,
I am a practising ESL teacher in Hungary. I am studying English Applied
Linguistics.
I am writing my thesis on ESL students whose native language is not based on
the Roman Script with a special focus on Hebrew natives.
I would like to ask for your help.
Please answer (some) of my questions below or add your own opinion, ideas
etc...

What methods do you use when teaching English especially the letters,
alphabet, reading, writing?
Do you use any special visuals, mneumonics? If yes, please give me examples.
What course books do you use? How do you exploit it in class?
Do your students start their English learning with some preliminary
knowledge? How old are they?
Is there an introductory oral period?
What is the relationship between reading and writing? Do you teach one
before the other?
Are there any special difficulties, problems, mistakes of your students? How
do they/you solve or overcome them?
Is there anything else you think important and I haven't asked?

Thank you very much in advance.
Juli
