Hi everyone, I agree with Sharon that a union is only as strong as its rank and file - so why are so many teachers rushing to join the on-line HOTS course, when sanctions are still officially in place? It's not only the content of the HOTS course and the question whether HOTS should be introduced in L2 before L1, it's also and very importantly, whether we agree to implement this programme before any decision is made about remuneration for the extra work we will all be putting in, as has been mentioned in many of the posts on this list. Everyone should realize that if not enough teachers have done the course, the Ministry will find it very difficult to start the programme. Once the programme begins without the question of money having been settled, we can kiss the idea of any kind of remuneration goodbye! And then we will all know the reason why we are expected to work so hard for peanuts - it's because that's what we agree to! This matter is really important to all of us. Please come to the round-table discussion at ETAI next week, and *very important - also come to the meeting with the Irgun representative which will be held immediately after the conference at 16.00.* Hope to see you there in droves.
