Dear ETNIers,

I had just finished preparing an activity for my 11th graders for Halloween,
and was about to send it to the ETNI site, when I saw that someone wrote
asking for activities. so here you have one.

There are two files. The one that ends with .yar is for use on an
interactive whiteboard. If you are lucky enough to have one at your school
you can use it. The other is the workpage that accompanies the listening
passage.

To make the activities I used this site:

http://www.teacherslovesmartboards.com/2010/10/smartboard-halloween-resource
s.html

The listening comprehension passage is a video clip that comes from:

http://www.history.com/topics/halloween/videos#haunted-history-of-halloween

And this is the accompanying worksheet:

This is the file for the interactive white board:

http://www.etni.org/teachers/adele/HalloweenIWB.yar

(It basically is a brainstorming activity - to see what the students know
about Halloween, then a link to the site with the short video clip about
Halloween (History channel 3:06 minutes) and then a link to an interactive
game - which you could also have them do on computers.)

I hope someone can use it in their classroom!

Happy Trick or Treating Ya'll!

Adele

Laugh and the world laughs with you, snore and you sleep alone.
