Hi Sara,
I think it's going to be quite difficult dealing with recording CD's to
students before internal exams - I prefer using mp3 devices. It's much more
comfortable and doesn't take as much time as it does when dealing with
burning Cd's.
How do we make sure they don't download anything else?? First we trust
them... second you can always look on the screen of any mp3 player and see
how many tracks there are there and this way you can know if they have
anything else on their device.
I would take their mp3 players before and make all this at home and give it
out to them right before the exam.

I hope that in the near future they will also change the CD's in the bagrut
to mp3 devices and put the files on a secured site where we, the teachers,
can download it and upload it to their mp3 players. Some might question how
can we have access to future listening that are not yet due (meaning having
access to module A and E at the same time) and my answer is that the same
way we are trusted not to rip all the envelopes ahead of time and see all
the exams the same way we can be trusted not to misuse this secured site.
It would save enormous amounts of money to the tax payers, it would be much
easier for the students (as CD players are becoming extinct as well) and all
will be happy.

Subject: [etni] question about CDs for tests

so now we have to start making CDs for tests.

some questions for those who have been doing this:

do your students bring you blank CDs or does the school give them to
you? i suppose we would use the kind you can write over and over on,
right?

if you download the files to the kids' MP3 or 4, how do you make sure
that there are no other files - like lists of irregular verbs etc.-
that they have recorded to the MP?
and when do you download the files (if, for example, one class has a
test at 8:15 and another has one at 10:10. what with the extra time, i
don't even have a break between the 2 classes. ) so would you take the
MP from them a day or 2 before? that doesn't make sense.
