my letter evoked some very strong responses. i thought it only fair to add the following: i was also upset by the conversation, which is why i posted on etni, for those who asked. we spoke again and the inspector said that she never said anything about sending letters to parents and that she just told me the story of the school (without names) and did not mean anything by it. that i misunderstood. ok, i'm dropping it. (it was not my principal who was upset or concerned, this was not about me.) i'm not interested in carrying this any further. at a coordinators meeting we were told that teachers who did not hand in the form with text names or who said that they weren't teaching the HOTS would have to get a letter from their principal stating that he knows that even though the new bagrut is being implemented, his staff is not teaching the hots. nothing else. (hope i understood correctly!) we shall probably be able to circumvent this by starting to teach lit. in grade 11, which is allowed. hopefully this will have been solved by then.:)) sandy -- 'Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain."
