I would like to add my agreement with Colin's comments about the
strike and his feelings about the supposedly intellegent Mr. Asa-els.
My wife too is a teacher and works way beyond the call of duty out of
sheer dedication for her calling. Its not just a job and her care for
her work and for the children she teaches is amazing. It is not unique
to her and all us spouses can bear witness to that by the frequent,
long and fervent telephone conversations that are a feature of our
late evenings. Cliches aside, teachers do shape the future and do it
for a pittance. When we finally sink to 3rd. world depths, with most
of our brightest people going overseas, maybe Mr. Asa-els will recall
his stupid article and feel like the twit he is.
