Of course. It's very easy for Ran Erez to make a pronouncement "Don't do
the projects" in order to come across as the champion of the English
teachers, and then leave us, the poor English teachers, to figure out how to
do this without compromising our consciences and without our pupils getting
a grade of 40. But that's Ran Erez. Is there anything he has said YES
to? Is there anything he has achieved for us, exactly?

Subject: [etni] Re: sanctions

If the Irgun expected us to dock 12 points from the grade of every pupil,
they had to make it very clear from the beginning to all students, parent
and principals.

Then the teachers could have complied. It is unfair and unrealisitc to
leave such critical decision

in the hands of individual teachers.

I am in complete agreement with Barry. All of the Irgun's sanctions and
strikes have been very unclear from the start. Ron Erez needs to
specifically state how the sanctions will affect the student's grades. He
should send this in writing to: The Knesset, Mefakchim, Principals and
Rakazim. He should then publish an article in the newspapers so that the
parents and students will understand what's going on. Once the students and
parents are explicitly aware of the consequences of the strike, THEY
themselves will call out in protest. As it stands, no-one really
understands what the strike is about. This leaves the teachers upholding
the sanctions in an unnecessarily awkward position.
