Dear Etniers,
I have just come home from demonstrating/ protesting at the Tsemach
Junction. We got lots of support , with thumbs raised, and honking horns..
But what difference will we really make !! And although it was uplifting to
join my fellow teachers in expressing our frustration and anger at the
situation it was upsetting to come home to the news of the possible and
then as I began surfing the net it was shocking to see the following (see
below) advertisement in Yahoo. (This is an advert for Americans telling
them in which jobs they can earn the most money !!! ).. Imagine starting
out at $60,000!!!! Yes we in Israel have a LONG way to go.. but I totally
agree with Renee , we could get better pay if there were smart reforms made
and less money went to bagrut tests 3 times a year and of course lost
lessons due to a million other more important extra curricular activities..
Well.. another week gone.

Awfully unhappy Aviva

$59,269 entry earnings

While many believe teachers are underpaid, a near-$60,000 entry-level salary
makes for solid earnings.

$80,000 entry earnings

If you're already a teacher, think of the high-paying, entry-level salary
you can earn as a principal or school district administrator
