I am proud of being a teacher. I have been a proud teacher for 40 years. I am
proud of my school, its teachers' room, the english staff to which I belong, the
moving ceremonies we have at our beautiful school located on the shores of the
Kinneret, the workshops educating about the abusive use of drugs, tobacco and
alcohol, the effort put into creating positive dialog between parents and
school and the community at large, educating against violence.
I'm proud of our academic achievements,of recognizing the student's needs
to ensure his social acceptance among his peers as well as his academic
success, of the voluntary work that we encourage and to which we have gathered
a large student following. I am proud of our joint project with religious
schools and Arab schools over the years to create understanding and better
citizenship of all.
I am proud of being a teacher in Israel when I read the entries on this list
and the newspaper articles by teachers, TV interviews.
I believe that the spirit, strength of character, courage that all have been
showing will have its rewards and we will make a positive and lasting impact on
the Israeli public and the needs for the betterment of our educational system.
And won't it be great that when we successfully return to our classrooms our
pupils might just say, " We're proud of our teachers!"
 Shabbat Shalom,
 Beth Londner
