[etni] "teaching" toddlers

Maybe someone in ETNIland can help me with this. I have a neighbor who has
asked me to "teach" her two and a half-year-old daughter English so that
she'll become a native speaker. She comes from a 100% Hebrew speaking
family and has basically no exposure to English. I reluctantly agreed to
give it a try, with no guarantees of course, but would like advice as to how
to go about it if any of you have had experience in this sort of thing.
What I thought I'd do is just go about everyday activities and immerse her
in English, play simple finger and action games, puzzles, etc. She
doesn't know me (so won't know that I can speak Hebrew), and I plan to be
kind of like her English-speaking granny. I've arranged to be with her
twice a week for about an hour at a time. Do you think it can work? Any
ideas or suggestions extremely welcome.
Thanks.
Ellen
