Hi all, There have been quite a few messages to the list, this morning, asking that the current thread - what many see to be the inclusion of politics on the list - not continue. I have not sent these messages through to the list yet - as I feel that they will have the opposite effect of what they were meant to do - they will cause more and more people to want to respond to this thread. There is sometimes a very thin line between what is political and what is not - and what is relevant to the English classroom and what is not. Sometimes it is only in the tone - sometimes it may be in the subject matter altogether. This - in itself - can be a subject of discussion, as seen in the new ETNI poll. I suggest - in the danger of being roasted - that we move the discussion of this topic to the comment area on the bulletin board of the new ETNI poll. (There is a link to it from the main ETNI page - www.etni.org - and from the poll, itself.) This way, those of you who want to carry on with the discussion can do so, but not on the ETNI list. David
