Hi,
The Sendero GPS or BrailleNote GPS runs on the BrailleNote family of products such as the mPower and Apex. The Note 2 is a Samsung Galaxy phone that runs Android. Between the Note 2 and iPad I have both operating systems covered.

I've never thought about that concept. I have an Apex here at work but no GPS
in it as I'd have to buy it if I wanted it, but again, i'm not use to the
concept that I'd take an Apex around with me with a GPS solution on it. What is
the GPS for Apex, just for my knowledge? What is a note 2?

Why not. An iPad might be the only thing someone has. Plus the size of the
iPad mini is quite nice. I got rid of my iPhone 4 for a Note 2.

Thanks so much. Will people really use this new App on an I Pad? how
interesting.

No you don't need one.
Seeing Eye supports:
iPhone, and iPad with 3g or 4g cellular plans.

The above devices have GPS receivers built in. It may work on wifi only iPads
but you'd need an external receiver and a way to get internet constantly to
the iPad. Note this situation has never been tested to my knowledge.

Some people like external receivers as it doesn't draw as much power from the
iPhones main battery.

Do you need an extra external GPS Receiver for this App? I have heard from one
source that you don't need one and then on this list it is said that we need
one? I am confused, please tell me if we need an extra external receiver if
we're using an I phone 5?

I will keep this e-mail just in case we need one.

Thank you.

We have talked about the Garmin Glo on this list. Its problem is that it has
an on/off button, which can be easily pressed and there is no easy way for a
blind person to know if it is on or off. Otherwise, it works great with the
iPhone and can work with a Sense product with some fiddling.

I just got a GNS 2000 receiver to test and it has a physical on/off switch.
I have connected it successfully with my iPhone. It has not so far connected
with the Braille Sense OnHand, Apex or PK. It appears in the Bluetooth list
but it does not connect.

Here are the details from their web site. It was $99 on Amazon.
