Yes, it would need some realtime datasource. For example here in Finland we
have realtime tracking info available for trams, trains and some busses.
Problem is that every city has their own standard for this, so it kind of
doesn't make sense to build live tracking support to global apps like
BlindSquare or Foursquare.

Maybe closest possibility would be to use Google proprietary standard
called GTFS-realtime:

I'm pretty sure that within next 2 years we will have accessible app that
will live track moving targets on some areas.
