True and I like what I am reading so far. It's just at the time I felt there was little choice and it just so happens I like iOS a lot and probably won't switch.

I'm glad you folks find android to be accessible cause I know when I
tried it a couple years ago, it was almost totally non[accessible. In
fact, the only way to make it accessible wasto purchase mobile speak
or something like that. Anyway, after all that, I switched to the
iphone and I am not looking back.

Yes, android is very accessible, I use it on a daily basis. Anyone
who still says android is not blind friendly simply has not given it

Yes.

These days Android devices are quite accessible.
For example, here is an unboxing of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S that
was released on June 26.

Note: just to keep the message on topic, this tablet runs Nearby
Explorer just fine.

I see this "why don't you use Google Maps" question so often,
that I think I need to give my thoughts. I was originally
planning to use Google Maps in BlindSquare, but their license
explicitly says it is not allowed to be used in apps like this. I
tried to contact Google, but it is very hard to get to contact
with them, even I have some business channels there.

So, as a built in map data source, I don't see Google Maps as an
option. They don't have API to get street data in vector form
which is often needed in apps like this. What they provide is map
in graphical form which is not very useful).

Yes, they have possibility to do route plan and search for POI,
but for BlindSquare it is not enough (+there is this license issue).

So, for this reason, Google Maps is provided only as 3rd party
route planning and more detailed map data is coming from
OpenStreetMap and Apple Maps.

hello all, I want to weigh in on what mike may said here. you
love foursquare, my point here, please get google maps in the
next version of this app, like we've been asking you to do sense
1.0 and call it a day. do you know, that we got a bypass here in
my location, after the bypass opened, with in two days of that
road opening, google maps starts telling me turn right on to
state highway 9, where your app and some others keep telling me
to continue on to 190. I'm sorry, but for almost real time
updated map info google maps will be your best way to go verses
tom tom and map quest. brandonTo change your email settings
