Hi, I totally concur with what you say. There's no comparison with the
Garmen and Holux. Furthermore, the holux still works indoors, whereas the
garmen doesn't, and I have the Holux in my pocket and when I have tested it
to see the difference between in and out of my pocket, the difference is
neglijable. For the sake of half of One percent difference in picking up
sattellites, I think it's worth having the Holux in my pocket offering it
more protection.
Regards, RS.

Hi Doug, I have both the Garmin gps 10 and the holux 236. In my use of the garmin gps 10, if i had it on the shoulder strap it would just be a matter of time, (seconds or minutes) before the receiver would drop the fix. When riding in a cab I would need to put the receiver either on the seat next to me, or against the window. as long as it was about a foot from my body it would work good. I would also keep it in a backpack. Now the holux. I have not had any issues with the holux not being able to maintain a fix against my body on the shoulder strap. Also the holux has the newer serf 3 chip set where the garmin uses the serf2 chip set. The Holux can get a fix within a minute most times. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.

the Holux performance with any other receiver, especially the Garmin 10.
