Hello everyone, Sendero has just released the new 2011 GNIS POI data. This was updated on April of 2011 from the USGS website. This new update is for all customers of Sendero GPS. This means this 2011 POI data will work on Sendero GPS 5.0, 6.2, 2010, 2011. Mobile Geo, Sense Navigation, Street Talk VIP, Sendero Maps, and APH Talking PC Maps. You can find the latest file once you log into your account at www.gosendero.com and select the link 'User and Other POI Content'. Then download the file '2011_GNIS_POIS.zip' from the link North America GNIS POIs: This zip file contains the GNIS database for North America. (Geographic Names Information System) is a separate database which has information about: Trails, Tunnels, Valleys, Basins, Bays, Beaches, Bridges, Canals, Channels, Dams, Falls,Lakes, Levees, Rivers etc. Last updated, June 2011. [123 Megs] There are four files in this zip file since the entire database was divided into GNIS1 and GNIS2. You will need to unzip '2011_GNIS_POIS.zip' and put the contents of the zip file in your maps folder. If you are low on disk space, States starting with A-M are in the GNIS1 files, and N-W are in GNIS2 files. There are 2 files per POI database. The North American Navigation Aids will not be updated since we have no updated information for these. The collective User POIs gets updated each month, we should have updated User POIs for June up soon. Enjoy and happy travels.
