Lets try this again with today's date in the subject. (smile)

The feature I will be discussing today is the automatic announcement
of intersections. We have had the ability to announce upcoming
intersections in LookAround mode. They would only trigger when your
speed was below 15 MPH. You would get the current street you are on
and heading/distance to the cross street.
We have modified this so it works as follows.
1. when traveling under 15 miles per hour you will get the current
behavior. street you are on and distance to the cross street.
2. When traveling above 15 mph you will only get the cross street
announced, no heading and distance.
3. intersections are checked every second so when traveling in a car
once you cross street a, street b will be announced. Crossing street
B will then in tern announce street C.
The next intersection can be 150 feet ahead of you or 900 feet ahead
of you, based on speed of travel.

In the LookAround menu there is a new option, silence intersection
announcements. by default it is set to 50 mph. When traveling above
50 miles per hour intersections will not be announced.

This is good if you are on a bus, you would like local streets
announced, then the bus moves on the highway, you may not want the
intersections automatically announced at this time. If you do not
want intersections announced then lower the speed threshold in this
item to 10 or 15 miles per hour. The choice is yours.
