Hi,
Ariadne is pretty accurate as far as I can tell; I've not experienced the lag that some have talked about on the vi-phone list. In combination with Navigon, doing a vehicle route, the combo seems to work well.
I have yet to try the combination using pedestrian mode.

I was quite impressed with Ariadne. Of course it's not as full of features as Sendero, but for a brand new app, I think it's wonderful. I'm hoping they'll eventually be able to include points of interest. As I understand, they can't get cross streets with Google maps. But while it was running when we were out and about yesterday, it was very accurate and responsive. For those who can't afford a notetaker and a GPS system with the bells and whistles, this one is well worth the three bucks.

Hi Folks:

For those who are looking for real time traveling accuracy, I offer this observation.

Using the app on an iPhone 4, I found that:

1. Whether the monitor was turned on or off, the app continually updated the direction heading and even that, in many cases was incorrect.

Noticed that, figure that is the compass not the AP.

2. In some cases, the cross street was named when I was 10 or 20 pases on the other side; great if you want to know where you were and not where you are going.

Saw that only once, could be GPS drift. iBlue.

3. In many cases, the cross streets were not named at all.

They were named here.

In summary: the app may be worth the money if you want to invest in the creator's R&D costs of developing an orientational GPS app for the iPhone; but if you are looking to depend on this app, you might want to wait a while -- the app is simply not ready for PrimeTime.

Maybe Mike or someone from Sindero might want to waigh in on this subject.

Cheers.
