Hi all: Wonder if anybody else has experienced this: I have SeeingEye GPS on
my iPhone 5S. The town of Twisp, WA, where I live is rural. On the plus side
is that the roads are comfortable to walk on-often gravel, no one-foot
driveways to jerk you out of whatever you were thinking about as you're
strolling along. The proverbial "but" is that there is less information
about the area on the maps. I have built up a certain number of POIs with my
sighted partner, Rob.
At the start of using the app, announcements were few and far between.
However, after a few walks with frequent POI recordings by me, I got quite a
few announcements as we started out.
The weird thing occurred after I decided to add another POI. I went through
the procedure of adding and saving the POI. We then proceeded with our walk.
No more announcements. I had not at that point exited the POI screen after
saving. Thinking that might be the problem, I exited the POI being selected
and set the selection to location. No announcements for a while, then, one
or two at sporadic intervals.
Are there any settings or steps I'm neglecting to get the announcements? Or
must I reboot the iPhone to get it to behave the way it did when we started
our walk? Oh, yes, I tend to shut my iPhone off whenever I'm not using it,
but I leave it plugged in, So, I always start any iPhone session with a
fully charged unit and a fresh reboot.
Any ideas appreciated.
