Hekko, MaryEllen,
Well, you seem to be having so much good luck with your GPS system, while I can't seem to even get mine working at all.

Good luck

Dick

Good morning, all!
Well, this morning, Peg and I were out before sunrise pounding the pavements and there was just a hint of a breeze stirring off of the desert. We did the route which Seeing Eye mapped out for us but instead of going to the left at one funny angeled driveway, I had Peggy go straight and realized uh oh, we were in one of the mega apartment complex's parking lots. I determined to keep going to see where we would end up. I set the gps to repeat the intersection and simply followed what it was telling me. We ended up going across about 3 lots before we came out onto the intersection.
Well what was so important about this discovery was there was no panic no yelling at the dog, just a smooth walking and hupping her to keep on going straight. We had to make a right and cross the street to get on the proper side of the street but I really praised my dog for her calmness and willingness to do what this crazy woman who owns her says to do.
Anyway as I was rounding the bend to come home I met up with a couple who said they had watched us from a distance and were secretly worrying that it would be 9 o'clock or after when I would find my way out of those lots. I showed them the gps and told them how it has gotten us home on more than one occasion.
So that is it for now.
But I think and probably the really experienced gps users can back me up on this that the more you get yourself lost the better because you learn to trust yourself first and theyour dog or cane secondly and the gps thirdly.
I know one thing, I'm not there yet but I'm sure getting there.
