Hi,
FYI, speed is taken directly from the receiver so if the receiver thinks you are going 35 mph that is what it reports back to the software. This is why sometimes if you are drifting, you can check the speed and it might report 1.2 or 2.0 mph and your standing still.

I have only the Trekker Breeze but noticed just the other day twice
within a 5 kilometer walk that it got tardy in announcing the
intersections, calling them out just after I crossed them. this seemed
to correct when I switched to another function like "Look Around" and back.

So much depends on how the software is written, I noticed too that my
speed as announced in the trip summary was faster than any of the speeds
reported in the information menu. Of course the cumulative average might
well have been faster than any of the intermittent checks but in all
probability the average speed would be slower given pauses for
intersections and such. All the calculations are made from the same GPS
receiver so it has to be variances down stream from that.

Dale Leavens.

I agree,
Never had this issue with my Trekker Maestro, which had maps locally
stored, and used an external GPS receiver. I wonder if using a external
GPS receiver with the iPhone would improve performance in this regard.

Here we go maybe this have to do with the speed the server bassed maps
access is updated. This is why I am a proponent of downloading maps to
the device

I was walking the last route. Some were announced, but others were
not.
The same was true with POI's. I thought it might have something to do
with which source I chose, but I'm not sure.

how to accomplish this. Might someone have some input?
