Battery length is specific to the receiver model. If you use the Holux M-1000 then you can expect around 17 hours of use. So what I usually do is if I use the receiver on a daily basis for about 2 hours, I charge it once a week just to be safe.

Hope this helps.

I was also wondering how one determines when the receiver battery is low?
what is the approximate length of time the receiver can be used on a full
charge? Thanks, Barbara

Subject: [gps-talkusers] checking mode in gps

How do you check which mode you are in when using Braillenote GPS for
example making sure you are in Pedestrian Mode and not Vertual Mode?
When you start the application are you always in Pedestrian mode by
default?
Also I can tell when my reciever is connected but how does someone with
no Sight know when the reciever battery is low or is it the case of just
keeping the reciever charged up?
I was a bit worried about pairing my reciever after my battery went low
on my Braillenote as I was asked for an authorisation code which I don't
actually know so I just ignored this and fortunately it got me connected
so I am wondering if because I am using the Braillenote it never needs
the code for the reciever which it might if using just a standard
Sighted GPS system.
