Hi,When I was using an iPhone 4 I would use iCatcher for podcasts and when the iPhone was downloading podcasts in the background the phone was pretty useless and I had to put it down until the downloads were complete. I had a 32GB iPhone with about 10 to 12GB free.
You could try powering the device down and see if that helps with responsiveness, also try clearing out your app switcher.
See if the iPhone 4 is also slow when downloading with other apps that download in the background. Just some thoughts.

Hi, I think it might be time I upgraded my phone. I installed the Seeing Eye GPS app yesterday and promptly bought the three-year subscription. Right off the bat I was impressed with my ability to get location and POI information though I was inside my lab and well away from outside windows. I took it for a spin on the way home from work and the routing was dead on. I may, however, need to upgrade to an iPhone 5 or at least a 4S now, as I'm finding that responsiveness when moving about the screens is a bit slow on my iPhone 4. By way of comparison, moving around on Navigon screens was slow for me too when I first tried an earlier version. Do you have any tips for us iPhone 4 users to help us increase responsiveness when moving around the screens? I've cleared out the app switcher before launching the app. Perhaps I need to power down and restart the phone. Haven't done that in ages. Any thoughts? As I said in another post, the Seeing app is very nice indeed. Great job, guys. CHEERS! Tom
