Update, Point 4, one more piece of information I neglected in my original
post is that I was using the history to create a route to that location, but
when I said create route to home from my grandpa's house, an air distance of
about 90 miles, it worked fine. Thanks for letting me know about route logs
Mike, I just submitted mine, so hopefully you have something to look at when
troubleshooting my first issue.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] Seeing Eye GPS, right location, wrong directions?
Other possible bugs

Hi,

I've had the Seeing Eye GPS about a month now, and I've noticed a couple
problems with it.

1. This weekend, we were in Centralia, looking for Centralia Monument.
The GPS picked it up just fine, and gave me the address of 502 South Tower
AVE. I then proceeded to tell it to create a vehicle route to that location.
Instead of winding up at the place we needed to go though, we wound up on
Washington, several miles south of where we needed to be. As the software
has no virtual capability, I haven't been able to explore this area to see
what is going on here, so can't figure out why it keeps telling me to go to
Washington when I want to go to Tower.

2. Last night when we got home, I searched for the place again, and it
said there were no pois within 50 miles of my location with that name. Since
this place is almost 100 miles from me, I expanded the search distance, but
it still didn't come up. The way things are going, I'll probably be back in
that area in about 5 weeks, so I'll try the search from about 20 miles out
or so and see if I can find it. I'm bringing this up though because I was at
a friend's house a couple weeks ago and had a similar problem. The problem I
had there was I decided to look to see what was around that area, so went to
the pois section and when the search box came up, I just left it blank. The
first few searches went fine, I just clicked show more when I came to the
last poi in the list. Then I got to about 20 miles out and clicked show more
and it said no more pois within 50 miles, do you want to expand your search?
I said yes a couple times, but it wouldn't come up with anything. As far as
air distance, I think Safeco Field and Century Link Field are about halfway
between us, and I was able to pick those up as being somewhat close both
here at home and at my friend's house, but I wasn't able to pick up many of
the other businesses that are closer to my home location than to my friend's
house. This seems to be a bug.

3. Searching, leaving the search blank doesn't seem to find
everything. Example, searching for Sky High yields Sky High Sports, about 14
miles from me in Bellevue which is correct. However, leaving the search
blank does not find them or the other place I was thinking of, Elevated
Sportz. Is this a bug or just a problem with the search output I'm using,
and would be fixed if I switched to Facebook or one of the other search
output sources?

4. Routing, back to example 1, I tried to create a route to the
location referenced in that example when I got home last night, but it
wouldn't do anything, it's like it doesn't want to create a route to
anywhere outside of 50 miles or so.

Thanks for reading this long message,

Bob
