Hi,

Just thought folks might like to know that there were actually three blind people as part of Erik's Everest expedition.

Erik Weihenmayer who became the first blind person to summit Mount Everest. A huge accomplishment.

Maurice Peret, who trekked to base camp and stayed at base camp for nearly two months and sent email updates back to the states throughout the climb. Living at Everest base camp is no small feat.

the third blind member of the team was myself, Dan rossi. I trekked to base camp with the expedition but only spent a single night and then trekked back out with the rest of the trekkers. A small group of us were planning on climbing Island Peak but the plans fell through so we instead headed down to the Jungle and spent a few days relaxing in a jungle resort of sorts.

I just recently exchanged email with Erik and he is currently leading a group of 9 blind and 9 sighted kids to Machu Picchu. You can see info about his current trek at:

Later.
