Alice, Too bad you're on T Mobile, as they are soon to become A T and T. The other two screen readers for android are Talk Back, which comes from Google itself, and Spiel, which is produced by a 3rd party. From what I understand, as far as screen readers go, they are all alike in functionality, because they all use the Google accessibility API. The thing that makes Mobile Accessibility different is that in addition to functioning as a screen reader, CF has also developed an alternative home screen, as well as a suite of accessible apps that give you accessibility from the start, to reduce the learning curve for those who need to use their phone right away. The other screen readers are free, but using them will involve a learning curve that may require that you keep your old phone activated until you can learn enough to start using your new phone. keep in mind that no matter which screen reader you use, you will need sighted assistance to download and install it, and you will need a phone that is running Android 2.2 or higher, and that is not exclusively touch screen based. They found the code factory mobile access or whatever it's called, but it's $100, and I thought I remembered people talking about other apps that were a lot cheaper and worked quite well? Does anyone know what they're called? Thanks.
