In Europe, if you see the message WAAS, that means you are receiving the Egnos 
signal. Egnos is not fully implemented yet but will eventually provide better 
accuracy. I believe this will be rolled out on a country by country basis. I 
don't know the latest status but we will find out since Charles and I will be 
in Europe for the next week. We will get first hand experience in at least 5 
countries.

One thing about WAAS is that it is supposed to p[rovide a more reliable GPS fix 
and not just better accuracy. In fact, there are debates as to just how much 
more accurate it actually is. It is important to know in terms of knowing how 
much to trust your positions and that is why we put it first. Remember that the 
accuracy indications are just estimates.
