Linda,

The time when you would want to go to a sunny window, or outside is when you are ready to acquire satellites. But, if you are wanting to activate the connection between your receiver and your BrailleNote, it doesn't matter where you attempt to do this. The reason it doesn't matter is because pairing and activating the receiver is all done through bluetooth, no satellites are involved in this procedure. If you are still receiving the message "bluetooth receiver not detected," try going into options, connectivity, bluetooth; check if your receiver is paired and active. If you were to do a simple reset, you will be forced to reactive activesync. And, if you were to do a 456 reset, you will be forced to reactivate activesync, repair activesync, and all of your custom settings will be lost. So, just my recommendation, if any reset needs to be performed, it should be the no-key reset.
I hope this helps you.
Kevin

Hi folks,
One thing I learned at the seminar at Teeing Eye was to put the
receiver into a sunny window when activating. If things do not
work you can always go back to the main menu and do a 456 reset.

I have some of that same trouble with mine. We were discussing
this topic
just this last week on the live chat. Someone there, was
planning to do
some work on trying to figure the best way to start everything
up. I guess
it can make a difference in the order that things are powered up.
I think
he said that you should turn on the note first then the receiver.
then go
to navigation and make sure that you get the prompt navigation
menu first.
Then start gps. I think sometimes we go through the steps too
fast. I
can't answer anything about the unsaved settings. I hope others
can tell us
more about this.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] BLUETOOTH RECEIVER NOT DETECTED

Hello GPS Users,

I am using a Bluetooth Receiver, and the latest version of GPS
and
Keysoft on my BrailleNote.
What happens is:
When I turn on my GPS, my Bluetooth receiver is not detected.
I need to go into options, connectivity, turn on Bluetooth,
search for
devices, pair, and activate Activesync over and over.
Sometimes, my settings aren't saved so I need to fix the arrival
distance, turn off sounds, ETC.
Now these settings are not always gone, but often they revert
back to
the default.

What I wonder:
Is my accessory pouch interfere with the GPS?
Or perhaps my cellular phone is too near to the GPS.
Thank you for your thoughts.
