Unless you are using the Lookaround wand, which way the phone is facing has
little influence. Your movement is what determines what the app should
return for your direction of travel and relative points and turns.

One thing that does happen with the phone in the pocket is that the shake
feature triggers a bit too often. I think that is something we need to
adjust so jostling as you walk doesn't keep triggering it. It is supposed to
be quiet when the phone is upside down.

GPS app

Bravo, my points exactly even though I have no app.

me, I can't figure out which position makes it the happiest, and just how in
the world to keep it there. For some reason, I don't have this trouble with
either Navigon or Blind Square. I just shove the phone into either of my
two short pockets, where it may or may not stay upright, and both of these
apps seem to handle it just fine. The Seeing Eye app however, will become
confused very easily, and next thing I know, the directions and intersection
information I am being given are 180 degrees off. It's very difficult to
keep one hand on the phone in my pocket to constantly make adjustments,
while holding on to the harness handle of a guide dog and gesture as needed.
Not to mention I feel slightly creepy digging around in my pocket as I walk
down the street. :-) If anybody has any suggestions that might be helpful in
this case, I would greatly appreciate what you have to say.
