Depends on the situation, if using an ear phone, you may wish to get
ear buds so both ears are not covered.  I will also pull the ear bud
out of my ear when crossing streets.

No, The Sendero GPS has a mode where you can set up pre defined
commands and when you stop walking the commands will execute. IE.
nearest intersection and destination could executed when you stop
moving.

depends, if I have a jacket I put the BrailleNote under my jacket. You
could also carry a plastic bag and put the BN in that as well.
