Hi Andrew, you guess is as good as ours. They probably have different
providers and when they integrate all of them since the POI lat/lon's don't
match up they don't remove the duplicates. It's a very difficult problem to
resolve when you have millions of POIs to try and clean up. Also check out
the description fields they could be different, and maybe the address info
is different... Not sure.

Thanks.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] more than one commercial poi for west minster abbey
and big ben.

Hi all,
I notice that I found a few pois for west minster abbey. Both seem to be
created by tomtom, one is under the historic site category and the other is
under building. The historic site is 119 metres away and the building is 173
metres away. Are these pois different entrances?
Also, big ben had multiple pois. There is a big ben under tourist
attraction, building, and historic site. All are created by tom tom and are
in different locations from each other meaning the pois for big ben are also
a few metres from each other.
Just wondering why there are multiple pois?
Kind regards,
Andrew
