George, I'm sure not Charles, but my guess is that the other 2 apps you used, Navigon and TomTom, take less battery because their maps are stored on the device, whereas the Seeing Eye app needs to have server connection to work, and takes more battery because of that. One of the things I'd really like to see would be the ability to let us have map segments on our phones. I was just recently on a trip which featured significant portions of time with little or no cell phone connectivity. That's real easy to do here in Oregon. And thus the Seeing Eye app was rendered useless, as were any other gps apps that rely on the data connection. I know that when APH came out with Nearby Explorer, which has maps on the device, many people complained about that and wanted the option to not have to go through the hassle of downloading maps and dealing with the storage issues. So you can't please everybody. <smile> But I would at some point love it if we could have a choice, perhaps if and when Seeing Eye can incorporate google maps accessibly?
