Theo Pope was editor of the Farnham Herald and very keen on cricket. He
wrote a book on the I'Anson competition called I think "A Cup for Cricket".

Hi Christine
Don't worry, it all sounds OK to me. I'Anson cup is a trophy in local
Cricket, in those days it would have been usual to have a club tie. I'Anson
cricket featured quite a lot in my piece of the index. My husband thinks a
Mr Pope was something to do with The Farnham Herald at one time. Chris will
comment I am sure.

Good afternoon everyone, here is the first of todays queries? Looks like
I'Anson Tie in box and then Mr Pope & Tie in another? Doesn't make sense to
me but I am sure someone out there will clarify and explain. Many thanks,
Christine
