I don’t know if anyone has replied yet, but:
1. The original gives no better clue ‘whip)’ or ‘whiff’
2. Sentence makes no sense unless name is Sainsbury White but the word after
looks like ‘tries’.
3. Impossible to say for definite but ‘carvings’ is the only logical word.
