Hello,

Coming the way from fvwm2 (for several years), gnome, kde, ratpoison,
awesome to i3, I think I have finally met "my" windowmanager. KUDOs, i3
is just great :).

I still have one problem to solve and hope you can help me.
Whenever I log in, I have to layout some of my screens to match what I
like. For example, I allways have emacs on screen 3 - that's the easy
part and works perfectly.

But then I have speedbar and emacs taking 50% of the screen, but I like
something like 20%/80% and the 80% in a vertically aligned container.
Of course, it's possible, but I always have to do that manually.
Similar for my pidgin: I want 20% for the buddylist and 80% aligned
vertically for the chat windows.
Isn't there some way to automate this?
