[i3] client.background transparency or method to remove/hide these areas

I am theming i3 and like slightly transparent backgrounds in my urxvt
terminals and usually have a wallpaper set.

I read the documentation about client.background as I noticed that
urxvt had these areas in my terminals. These areas grow and shrink by
varying levels when moving/resizing windows which made things look a
little ugly.

I also noticed a similar issue in Gimp. I am not sure if this is the
same thing.

Is there any way to resolve this?
