Hi there,
I'm using i3 on Slackware64 13.37 with dual head monitors (2x 1920x1200)
Why do windows cover the status bar (dzen2) - in other words it's only
visible if I close all the windows.
in the config file I disabled the workspace bar:
workspace_bar no
Here's my .xinitrc
userresources=$HOME/.Xresources
usermodmap=$HOME/.Xmodmap
sysresources=/etc/X11/xinit/.Xresources
sysmodmap=/etc/X11/xinit/.Xmodmap
# Merge in defaults and keymaps
[ -f $sysresources ] && /usr/bin/xrdb -merge $sysresources
[ -f $sysmodmap ] && /usr/bin/xmodmap $sysmodmap
[ -f $userresources ] && /usr/bin/xrdb -merge $userresources
[ -f $usermodmap ] && /usr/bin/xmodmap $usermodmap
# Start i3
if [ -z "$DESKTOP_SESSION" -a -x /usr/bin/ck-launch-session ]; then
exec i3 --force-xinerama -V >>/home/martin/.i3/i3log 2>&1 &
sh startup.sh
# exec ck-launch-session i3
else
exec i3
fi
and dzen2 startup:
while true
do
DATE=$(date)
MEMINFO=$(sed -n -e '3d' -e '1,4p' /proc/meminfo | awk '{printf
"%d ", $2 }')
UPTIME=$(uptime | sed 's/.*://; s/,//g')
QUALITY=$(sed -e '1,2d' /proc/net/wireless | cut -d" " -f6,7)
UNAME=$(uname -a | cut -d" " -f1,2,3)
HD=$(df -h | awk '/root/ {print $4, $5}')
echo "^fg(green)$DATE | $UNAME | T/F/C $MEMINFO | Wifi:
$QUALITY | Load Average: $UPTIME | Root: $HD"
sleep 5
done | dzen2 -y 1180 -bg black -fg grey -fn fixed
thank you
Martin
