You're confusing a few things here. lifebar is a standalone bar.
i3blocks, however, is not a bar, but just a data provider for i3bar (so
it replaces i3status, not i3bar). This also means that "i3blocks has
tray support" doesn't really make sense, because the tray support comes
from i3bar, not i3blocks.

Also, lifebar seems like a really early-stage project from the looks of
it. There are plenty other bars which are more widespread, such as dzen2
or lemonbar.

About lifebar yes, it is in its early-stages but so far it provides a lot of
information in an elegant way with its default setup.
However lacking a system tray (I had to use tint2) was ultimately a
show-stopper to me so after searching for a while I fell in love with i3blocks:
