This is exactly the reason why it is included. We also had this
with i3, where people who build from source don’t want to install
asciidoc and the necessary xml packages to generate a manpage by
themselves.

You don't have to contact me seperately, I will move i3 and i3status to
[community] with the next release so the asciidoc makedependency is
nothing the usual user needs.

However I prefer generating man pages when building packages instead
of using previously generated.
