Personally I will use TM3Z in the Single Op. all bands assisted category. My
goal is to operate 44 hours (hope to have rested enough before the contest).
I think that for someone who has the opportunity to use a beam 2 elts (or more)
on 40m or a four square on 80m or 40m (feel free to ask to a "performing
contest station" not active in this contest even if you don't know personnaly
the operator, you may be surprised) and who's ready to make at least a 35 hours
effort, it is THE ideal year to break a single band record on 40 or 80 m
whether HP or LP.
Choosing the most situable category according to its equipment or its
capacities will make 50% of your final result.
15 and 10m will be surely quite (even with NA on 15m) but keep an eye on these
bands, a good opening is still possible (keep a "psk reporter" window always
open to check level of FT8 reports on 10m :

15 m can produce West NA opening at 20-21.00z right now 😉
Hartmut, I think (or hope) that RTTY operators are still there for the contests
and it's also possible that we'll have more operators now because many more
people have now interfaced their tranceiver for FT8 so they are now able to do
RTTY (at least during event such as CQWW) 😉 let's hope...
PS : if some of you are in FT8, WSJT-X or similar mailing lists, promote CQ WW
RTTY, it's an opportunity to operators who have newly interfaced their
tranceiver for this new mode to discover how easy, funny and quick it is to do
RTTY QSO.

Objet : [igry] Der CQWW-RTTY comming soon.
Der CQWW RTTY 2018 wirft seinen Schatten voraus. Der CQWW ist der
wichtigste RTTY Contest der Jahres. Für uns, als eingeschworener
RTTY-Contestclub, sollte es ein MUSS sein, daran mit mehr oder weniger
Intensität teilzunehmen, zumal dieser für unseren Contestpokal mit dem
Faktor 4 zählt.
Die Bedingungen sind leider in einer Abwärtsphase, 48 Stunden sind auch
für viele von uns eine nicht zu nehmende physische Hürde. Trotzdem, auch
eine limitierte Teilnahme stärkt den Mode RTTY. Ich hoffe auch, dass der
CQWW-RTTY ein starkes Signal aussenden wird, dass RTTY nicht tot ist und
dass FT8 nicht zur allein beherrschende digitale Betriebsart auf KW wird.
Was gibt es denn für Planungen für den CQWW-2018 unter uns? Auf dem
Schöppinger Berg findet hoffentlich wieder eine schlagkräftige
Mehrmannaktivität statt. Ob bei DK0OG was stattfindet, weiß ich nicht.
Ulli, DD2ML fragen. Noch ist ja Zeit.
Bei mir wird es auch etwas geben. Ist aber noch in der Planung und noch
nicht spruchreif. Es sieht aber aus nach einer Single-Band Teilnahme.
Nicht nur ich bin gespannt, ob ich dazu hier was lesen darf.
