My opinion even if I'm not a fan of these events.It seems to be a quite good
idea. Let's try for 2019 and see what's going on.I tend to agree with Dieter's
version.The rules should mention the case of QSO made with stations who are not
participating. What to do ? Count them with serial number = 0 or QSO not valid
?

why we should not gain the experience ? I think we are now strong enough to do

Long talk short sense, here my proposal with simple rules :
1. Interest Group RTTY Sprint Cup 2019
2. For the 1st 2nd and 3rd place plaques sponsored by MM3AWD Scott
2a. For all other participants an electronic certificate
3. Date, the 2nd and 4th Thursday every Month, from 17:30 utc - 18:59 utc
10.01.2019 , 24.01. , 14.02. , 28.02. , 14.03. , 28.03. , 11.04. , 25.04. ,
09.05. , 23.05. ,
13.06. , 27.06. , 11.07. , 25.07. , 08.08. , 22.08. , 12.09. , 26.09. ,
10.10. , 24.10. , 14.11. , 28.11. , 12.12. , 26.12. .
4. Bands 40m and 80m , RTTY 45 Bd
5. exchange only the serial number without report like " MM3AWD 029 029 k "
6. QSOs statistics via IG-RYsprint19@xxxxxx , deadline 48h after the contest.
7. IG-RY Sprint Cup standings at www.ig-ry.de weekly updated
that's is hi ;-)
I can work quickly with Win office Excel and could manage the standings in
short time ...

Hello Scott,
scan the many Contest Calenders around. You’ll find plenty of those “small”
contests.
At the moment the “Sezione ARI”, NS Sprint and RSGB activities come to mind.
USA State QSO parties, NAQP, PGA-Digi and so on....

Hello Goetz,
Thanks for your input and thoughts.
I am unaware of such events in RTTY mode. Except the NCCC sprint which is
primarily a North American focussed event. There is very little like this for
EU and rest of the world.
Maybe we can come up with some bigger and better idea in the future before the
start of 2019.

I dislike the idea just because there are already many such „events“ in
existence.
To promote RTTY I would support a monthly IGRY QSO Party where we (whoever
takes part) just chat with each other. No contest style exchanges.

Hello Fellow RTTY Enthusiasts,
I would like to propose and request your input to this idea I have.
We have weekly contests in SSB, CW and RTTY (Focussed on NA)
How about we create a weekly contest with year long leaderboards that can
promote RTTY activity outside of a contest weekend, also promote our group
IG-RY.
Here is my idea below.
Please feel free to make some comments and suggestions.
Would be great if we can do something like this.
With some time before the start of 2019 we have time for promotion and to have
logging software modules ready for our participants, also to secure a score
submittal page on 3830.
IGRY RTTY Sprint Rules
Aims
To promote RTTY contesting and activity outwith a contesting weekend
To encourage new blood to get involved with RTTY and contesting.
Note
These sprint contests will run on a weekly basis, with year long points tables.
Winners of each category at the year end will receive a Plaque, all
participants will receive Electronic PDF Certificates.
Time
1900-2000 UTC Every Thursday.
Recommended Frequencies
3580-3600
7040-7060
14080-14099
21080-21099
28080-28099
Categories
Single Operator HP/LP*/QRP**
*Low Power = 100W Max Output
**QRP = 5W Max Output
Exchange
RST + Serial number
Multipliers
Each different call worked is a multiplier on each band.
Logs are not necessary to be submitted. Just submit your score to 3830scores up
to 48 hours after to be included in the results.
Results will be published on the website after the deadline and up to date
yearly tables each week published.
